Festival jewel presented to W.Bro. Charles Vickers Scott

W.Bro. Charles Vickers Scott, PPSGW, a Past Master of Crowley Lodge No. 6901 continues to support the Festival despite being unable to attend the Lodge as regularly as he would wish due to health issues.

Charles, now ninety years young has been a member of the Craft for sixty eight years, having been initiated into Liddell Lodge No. 3616 on 24th March 1949, passed on 28/04/1949 and raised on 22nd December 1949.

Crowley Lodge No. 6901 was consecrated on 7th December 1949, and Charles became a Joining Member on 17th February 1950. He was Worshipful Master in 1957.

Provincial Honours came his way in 1966 with the rank of ProvGSuptWks with promotions to PPJGW in 1991 and PPSGW in 2005.

Charles was proposed into Freemasonry by his father W. Bro. George Vickers Scott, whose family Building Company constructed the purpose-built Masonic Hall at Dunston in 1932.

Charles was for many years the Chairman of The Dunston Freemasons Hall Company Ltd and he facilitated the viable Masonic Hall now enjoyed by the various Lodges and Orders meeting at Dunston.

On Thursday 3rd August 2017, W. Brothers Sandy Mathieson and Keith Liddell, Charity Steward and Secretary respectively, visited Charles at his home for the purpose of Sandy presenting him with his Festival Jewel.

Charles was very pleased to greet Sandy and Keith and received his jewel with great pleasure. He hopes to attend the Lodge again very soon.
