Everyday Hero – Richard Kettlewell

Richard Kettlewell

Richard Kettlewell is in the chair of Vale of Tees lodge No.5016 and he is trying to support the sterling work the Lodge Charity Steward is doing towards our Festival target. Marie and Richard enjoy walking and this seemed like a perfect opportunity to combine that into raising some monies towards two charities. The giving page is specific to to the festival, but we have sponsor forms as well which we are circulating locally, at his work and as part of the Masonic visits Richard undertakes. The intent is halve the monies from the sponsor forms and donate to the Festival and the Darlington memorial hospital special care baby unit – Richard and Marie’s first grandchild was premature and spent a few weeks in there. The two causes being aligned to children seemed to complement each other. Richard states that Keith Schaible presented to Vale of Tees Lodge at the last regular meeting and has been most helpful in getting him more familiar with the whole Festival page and more up to date methods of donating!!

They will set off from Wallsend and walk the length of Hadrians wall, 84 miles/134km, finishing at Bowness on Solway

They plan to take photos on the way – scenery, historic Roman sites and hopefully pick out a few items relating to the stone masonry. If the photography is up to scratch, the weather is nice and there is material to work with, Alan our visiting grand lodge officer at Vale of Tees maybe in a position to help me run either a lodge or social evening when we present/discuss items of relevance/interest

Richard Kettlewell states that:

I’ve created this page because I want to make a difference. I’m inspired by the work of The Freemasons’ Grand Charity and wanted to support them by raising money as part of my participation in The Province of Durham RMTGB 2021 Festival. Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the ‘Give Now’ button. The more people that know about The Freemasons’ Grand Charity, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
