Masonic history – I joined Lodge Stewart in 1992 and was Master in 1999 and 2009. In 2006 I was promoted to PPGReg
I am a past Z of Unity Chapter 661. I am also a Past Preceptor of Tees Preceptory of Knights Templar, Past Supreme Ruler of Finchale
Conclave OSM. I am also a member of Castle Eden Lodge of Installed Masters 9666 and Assistant Secretary in Durham Lodge of Installed Masters 4441. I was an ambassador for the cathedral project.
I have also served on the Board of Directors at Seaham Masonic Temple. I served 10 years as Treasurer and for the last 12 years have been company secretary.
Career – I was a teacher. My last position was as Head of the History Department and Examinations Officer at Houghton Kepier School, a large 11-16 comprehensive school.
Personal – I am very involved in the local community. I serve as Chair of Governors at a primary school in Seaham and I’m Vice Chair of Governors at Seaham School of Technology. I have been a volunteer in Durham cathedral for about 35 years where I’m a Senior steward leading a team of stewards looking after the visitors and Im also a cathedral guide. I also serve as Secretary to the Friends of Seaham War Memorials and a member of Destination Seaham which promotes the town.
